Tripti Ranjan Sen Paikgachha (Khulna) Correspondent : Police have recovered the body of a mentally handicapped man from the canal of Mathkhali in Kazimusha village of Kapilmuni in Paikgachha of Khulna. The body has been sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy. An unnatural death case has been registered in this incident.
According to the police sources, the locals informed the police after seeing a floating body in the canal of Mathkhali village of Kazimusha village of Kapilmuni UP on Thursday morning, February 18, 2022.
When the police reached the spot and recovered the body, the locals said that the body was that of Garij’s mentally handicapped wife Karimannesa (60) of Baruidanga village.
Karimannesa’s son Hashem Ali said his mother had been mentally ill for six years. He was found everywhere for the last 11 days.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the police station Md Ziaur Rahman said, “When the locals found a body in Mathkhali canal of Kazimusha village of Kapilmuni union, they informed the police and I went to the spot and rescued the body with the help of police and locals.” The OC also said that Karimannechcha had been mentally handicapped for a long time. He used to walk around with a sack all the time. The body has been sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
