Tripti Ranjan Sen, Paikgachha (Khulna) Correspondent : A mobile court in Paikgachha, Khulna has conducted a raid and collected a fine of Tk 20,000 from four pona traders and about 500 kg of fish has been released into the river.

It is learned that during the procurement of fish fry from natural sources, ignoring the government ban, on Thursday afternoon, February 18, 2022, Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Mumtaz Begum along with about 500 kg fish fry, Md. Didar Islam of Koira, Md. Md. Abdul Alim and Md. Billal Sheikh of Naldanga were arrested.

Later, the judge of the mobile court imposed a fine of Rs.

Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Pabitra Kumar Das, Assistant Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Shahidul Islam, Upazila Ansar and VDP Instructor Md. Altaf Hossain, Union Leader Md. Faisal Hossain, Ansar members Rakib and Jahangir and Peshkar Protul Joyaddar among others were present during the operation.

About 500 kg of fish fry seized at that time was released into the river.
