SM Ahsan Habib, Asashuni (Satkhira) Bureau : A rider was killed and his driver injured in a motorcycle accident at Asashuni.
Sumon, 26, son of Bimal Mandal of Fatehpur village in Kaliganj upazila, was returning home from Jessore on Monday night, May 23, 2022, on a motorbike with electronics. When he reached near Mahishkur Molla’s house in Sriula Union at around 11.40 pm, the driver lost control and crashed into a motorbike on the side of the road. When the motorcyclist falls into the fishing net, his head falls into the muddy soil. Imran Babu, Sabuj, Imran and Shahbaz heard the noise and reached the spot and rescued the driver unconscious. They did not know then that another was on a motorcycle. Later, when he saw a pair of shoes and glasses on the side, he became suspicious and at one stage of the search, the passenger Sumon was rescued from the bottom of the water. When local UP member Mollah Akhter Hossain informed the police on his mobile phone, the police reached the spot and arranged for the injured youth to be sent to Satkhira Hospital and handed over the deceased Sumon to his parents.
