Sujit Mallick, Dumuria (Khulna) Correspondent : Khulna District Detective Police (DB) raided a tea shop at Hadaram Tala Bazar in Rudaghara of Dumuria Upazila on Wednesday night, January 5, 2022 and arrested six gamblers.
District DB Officer-in-Charge Ujjwal Kumar Dutt said that based on the anti-drug and anti-gambling drive, we came to know through secret news that a gambling party was going on at the house of Shariful Islam, a tea seller in Hadaram Tala Bazar, Rudaghara Union, Dumuria Upazila. At one stage, around 8:30 pm, a raid was carried out along with the accompanying force and 6 gamblers were arrested along with playing equipment.
They are Shariful Biswas (25), son of Gani Biswas of the area, Mannan Sheikh (33), son of late Ali Sheikh, Dinesh Sardar (28) and Samresh Sardar (22), two sons of Upananda Sardar, Bappi Sardar (22), son of Zahidul Sardar, Parimal. Ujjwal Gain, 24, son of Gain, Billal Sardar, 40, son of late Aziz Sardar and Shyampad Mandal, 50, son of late Bhavanath Mandal.
A case under Gambling Act No. 07 has been filed against them at Dumuria Police Station.
