Own correspondent : Chehlam of late Shahida Khatun, mother-in-law of Shariful Islam Durjoy, Finance Secretary of Bangladesh Awami Juba League Central Executive Parliament and eminent businessman has been held.
On Friday, January 06, 2022, after Jumuah, food was provided at the Chehlam ceremony at the residence of the late Shahida Khatun in Shankhara village of Bhomra union of Satkhira Sadar upazila. In addition, prayers for forgiveness of the soul of late Shahida Khatun were sought through prayers in all local mosques. People from all walks of life, regardless of party affiliation, took part in the Chehlam event.

Abdul Mannan, Sadar Upazila Juba League convener and UP member Asaduzzaman Asad, Municipal Juba League convener Monwar Hossain Anu, Satkhira Municipality panel mayor Rabeya Parveen, Bhomra Union Awami League president Anwarul Islam Gazi, former UP member Abdul Gani, Debhata Upazila Bijoy League general secretary. Sohag Hossain, joint convener of Satkhira Sadar Upazila Juba League, Yusup Sultan Milon, joint convener of Municipal Juba League, Zakir Hossain, Shariful Islam and leaders of different units of Juba League and local dignitaries.
