MP Babu allocated Tk 3.5 lakh from the Kabikha project of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief to build the connecting road. With this money, a connecting road of about 1000 feet in length and 18 feet in width has been constructed. The road has been paved with brick soles so that the passengers can cross easily after being filled with soil. Hundreds of people are crossing the river every day without any suffering. MP Alhaj Akhtaruzzaman Babu inspected the connecting road on Saturday morning, January 08, 2022. The locals present at the time expressed their gratitude to the Member of Parliament. Members of Parliament were present on the occasion along with Upazila Chairman Anwar Iqbal Montu, Mayor Selim Jahangir, Deputy Assistant Engineer Azim Kawshar, Upazila Vice Chairman Shiabuddin Firoz Bulu, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Imrul Kayes, UP Chairman Ripon Kumar Mandal, Abdul Mannan Gazi, District Awami League Leader Sheikh Anisur Rahman Mukt, Professor Sheikh Ruhul Quddus, Awami League Leader Nirmal Mandal, Bibhuti Bhushan Sana, Lecturer Moinul Islam, Shahbuddin Shahin, District Juba League Leader Shamim Sarkar, Press Club Vice President Md. It is to be noted that people of several upazilas including Paikgachha-Koira and Asashuni travel to Khulna through Soladana Darunmallik. People from Deluti and Lata Unions also travel across the Soladana ferry. Due to siltation of huge chars in the concerned ferry area, the boat could not come ashore at low tide. As a result, people who had been crossing for a long time were crossing with bamboo bridges. The common people were suffering. At present ordinary people can easily cross the road directly by boat without any hassle.
