Own Correspondent : A four-day Bangabandhu and Swadhinata Book Fair has been inaugurated in Satkhira by cutting the ribbon and flying balloons and festoons at the initiative of National Implementation Committee to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Today, Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 3 pm in Satkhira Shahid Abdur Razzak Park under the overall management of the Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with the local government department and the implementation of the district administration under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Humayun Kabir. The fair was inaugurated by Mir Mostaq Ahmed Robi, Member of Parliament for Satkhira-2 constituency. Speaking as the chief guest, MP Robi said, “Reading books is an addiction. Those who have a habit of reading books read books everywhere. Reading books is mixed with the blood of many. All the books that distort the history of our Bangladesh and independence are written in the market. He further said that free books were distributed to all the students on the first day of the year due to the efforts of People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina in our country. Which is not in any country in the history of the world. ”
Satkhira Government Women’s College Principal Professor Basudeb Singh, Additional Superintendent of Police Sajeeb Khan, Sadar Upazila Chairman and District Awami League Joint General Secretary Alhaj Mohammad spoke as special guests. Asaduzzaman Babu, former District Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander Bir Muktijoddha Mosharraf Hossain Mashu and others. There are 29 stalls in the 4 day long Bangabandhu and Swadhinata Book Fair. Various competitions including essay and quiz competitions will be held on the occasion of the fair.
Political leaders and heads of various departments of the district administration were present at the time.
The entire program was conducted by Sheikh Musfiqur Rahman Milton, General Secretary of District Shilpakala Academy.
