“Initially, there were no vaccinated people, but now there is a long line of people at every vaccination center,” he said. As a result of various publicity campaigns of the government, people have now become quite aware, besides regular vaccination activities, mass vaccination activities have received a wide response from the general public. While all the developed countries of the world are in dire straits with Corona, we have reached a tolerable level. This success belongs to all of us. However, those who worked from the front during this epidemic, risked their lives, lost their lives, from the doctors to all the officials and employees working in the health department must be thanked separately. Besides, many people have done a lot of work on individual initiative, I also thank them. Welcoming all those present at the beginning of the meeting, Sonak member and convener of the sub-committee on health sector, Dr. Sushant Kumar Ghosh. He highlighted the context of the research conducted by TIB. Then a power point on the research report was presented by TIB’s Khulna Cluster Coordinator Md. Firoz Uddin. An open discussion was held at the end of the presentation. Participants in the open discussion shared their experiences with the report and shared their experiences.

He praised the work of those involved in coroner vaccination and healthcare, including the Civil Surgeon of Satkhira. Asaduzzaman Babu presented various data and said that in the beginning there was reluctance among the people to get vaccinated, people could not be vaccinated by force, now it is not possible to stop them even with the police. He mentioned that after overcoming various obstacles and adversities, Bangladesh has been successful in corona control and vaccination program. He thanked TIB and Sonak for organizing such an event. It is not possible to overcome it overnight if you want. But the common people also have to fulfill their responsibilities. He said the existing facilities are never used in times of disaster. As institutional facilities need to be enhanced, so does external cooperation. He said there should be a minimum of 6 beds for every 10,000 people, as Satkhira district needs to have at least 1800 beds, but in total there are 650 government beds. In addition, the pressure on these beds increased during the Corona disaster. There is also a manpower crisis. Even then we are trying our best. He urges everyone to understand the difference between a clinician and a public health specialist. “Everyone’s mindset is not the same, but not everyone’s abilities are the same,” he said.
