Asashuni (Satkhira) Correspondent : Adventurous burglary has taken place at the residence of Mohammad Ali, former principal of Baradal Collegiate School of Asashuni Upazila.
The theft took place at his residence near Baradal Collegiate School ground on Wednesday night, December 29, 2021.
The former principal’s brother Solaiman Hossain said that the former principal’s wife was not at home and the former principal and his adopted son Joynal slept in a room on the second floor of their two-storey building at night. Then, at some point in the night, a group of organized thieves broke through the grill of the kitchen window on the east side of the house and entered the house through the kitchen. The former principal in the ground floor room and Joynal in the second floor room are then thought to have been sprayed with anesthetic. At that time, when the two of them became unconscious, they broke the locks of all the cupboards, boxes etc. of the house and took away various items including cash, mobile phones, gold ornaments, land deeds and necessary documents. Then around 8 in the morning, the housemaid Banu Bibi came and left without thinking that she was still asleep. At about 9 o’clock, the working woman came again and at one stage of loud shouting, Joynal came down in a state of illness. At that time, if the working woman informs the people around her, they can come and understand about the theft. After initial treatment by a local village doctor, the two were rushed to Satkhira CB Hospital by ambulance. When Asashuni informed the police about the matter, Inspector of Police (Investigation) Biswajit Adhikari visited the spot. At that time, he asked to lodge a complaint with the police station and said that he would take legal action after receiving the complaint.
Meanwhile, the exact amount of damage could not be ascertained as the two of them regained consciousness till the report was written.
