M, M Saheb Ali, from Asashuni (Satkhira): Parent member election has been held in Asashuni Secondary Girls School. In the election, the panel supported by Dhali Shamsul Alam has won 4 out of 5 seats.
Voting was held in the school hall room from 10 am to 4 pm in a joyous atmosphere with the participation of a large number of people. Hasanuzzaman, Academic Supervisor of the Upazila Secondary Education Office acted as the Presiding Officer. Out of 246 voters, 210 exercised their franchise. 10 votes were declared void. Nine of the two panels competed for 5 positions. Elias Sardar (Umbrella Symbol), a candidate supported by Dhali Md. Shamsul Alam, who was repeatedly elected as the President of the school, got 1st position with 109 votes, Sala Uddin Moral (Tubewell Symbol) got 2nd position with 104 votes and Akibar Rahman (Book) got 3rd position with 103 votes. Hamida Khatun (Golapful) of the same panel won the post with 104 votes.
The lone winner of the other panel, Sam Fazlur Rahman (Rooster Symbol) got 9 votes and secured 4th position. Opposing candidates Ziaur Rahman (Fish) got 91 votes, Shaheen Reza (Deer) got 8 votes, Hazrat Ali Chair (93 votes) and Jharna Chakraborty (Kolas) got 93 votes in the reserved women’s guard post.
