SM Ahsan Habib, Asashuni (Satkhira) Bureau: Various programs have been held in Asashuni on the occasion of Martyred Intellectuals Day.
On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, wreaths were laid on the portraits of martyred intellectuals at the beginning of the day by the Upazila administration from morning till evening. Drawing and composition competitions are organized. Later, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium after visiting the shrine of martyred freedom fighter Rafiqul Islam at Keergati village of Baradal union of the upazila. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nazmul Hussain Khan presided over the discussion, Upazila Vice Chairman Asim Baran Chakraborty, Principal of Asashuni Government College Abul Kalam Azad, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Shahin Sultana, Social Service Officer Rafiqul Islam, former Freedom Fighter Commander Abdul Hannan and other government officials.
Finally, in the evening, candles were lit at the Upazila Memorial in memory of the martyred intellectuals.
