Rupsha (Khulna) Correspondent: An NGO worker named Firoz Ahmed was killed in a road accident in Russia.

The accident took place near Alaipur small bridge in Rupsha Upazila on Friday, July 29, 2022, at around 10:30 am.

The deceased was identified as Firoz, son of Khandaker Mofizur Rahman of Shimulia village under Jhikargachha Upazila of Jessore district.

Rupsha Police Station SI Md. Tareq Rahman said Khandaker Firoz Ahmed was working as a business development officer of an NGO called RRF in Rupsha Upazila. This month he joined the Rupsha branch. He was on his way to the office in the morning. At around 10:30 am, when he reached the small bridge of Alaipur, a truck loaded with coal coming from the opposite direction, Khulna Metro T-11-0423, crushed him.

He died on the spot when a wheel of the truck went over his head. The helper was apprehended from the scene by the agitated crowd. He was handcuffed and handed over to the police.

Rupsha Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sardar Mosharraf Hossain said the body of the NGO worker killed in the accident was recovered. Khmer Hospital has been sent for an autopsy. One has been arrested.
